Dear participants,
dear friends of choral music!
As the artistic director of the festival it is my pleasure to welcome all of you here in Vienna - the world’s capital of classical Music. Find time to stroll a bit around the city- discover places where great musicians from the past created their master peaces. I am convinced this can serve as an inspiration for you.
Music has the power to nourish humanity among people and it supports understanding and peace between cultures.
Two years ago, we started the World Peace Choir project with Austrian and Indian boys and girls. The first step was mastered successfully and the children enjoyed their experience and will treasure the moments for life.
This year, the activities of the World Peace Choral Festival will go further and are reaching out for new dimensions. The 2010 Vienna- World Peace Choral Festival invites all chorus ensembles across the world, especially children and youth chorus ensembles, to participate.
Competition is not the ultimate purpose of this festival- prior aim is to increase understanding between cultures, promote chorus art, and foster friendship between the people when spending time singing and celebrations together.
Lets get together friends, let’s sing for a better world!
