Donation sales to UNICEF

Raising our voices for love and peace at the 13th World Peace Choral Festival in Vienna.

The World Peace Choral Festival, since its very beginning, has promoted its motto "coming together to sing, singing for a better future," symbolizing love and dedication to creating a better tomorrow. Its global impact is highlighted by the Donation Sales whose proceedings are donated to UNICEF to support children in poverty.

The 13th WPCF continues this tradition, with funds aiding a solar-powered water pump project in Malawi which will provide clean drinking water to impoverished families in the area. With over 40 choirs from 15 countries participating, it was probably the most international donation market in Vienna, as all of them brought unique items and souvenirs from home. In turn, they received certificates acknowledging their contributions to the cause.

Everybody was welcome to join and get a trinket like no other for less than 10 euros to help us get a step closer to our goal. For everybody's convenience, the Sale took place in three locations over three days including the City Hall of Vienna, the University of Music and Performing Arts, and the MuTh concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir. This year we have raised over 3000€ and will continue with our efforts during the following World Orchestra Festival, starting on the 25th of July, to make a bigger difference.

Thanks to this initiative, the World Peace Choral Festival has received widespread praise and recognition from UNICEF and various other sectors of society over the years. The CEO of UNICEF Austria, Mag. Christoph Jünger, delivered a speech on behalf of his organization, emphasizing the importance of cultural events like the World Peace Choral Festival in promoting dialogue and building international bridges, especially in these urgent times. By fostering a spirit of empathy and camaraderie among participants, especially youth, Peace Charity Sale is starting a chain reaction of love and charity, inspiring more people every year to take care of each other and take part in the pursuit of world peace.
