Voices of Harmony
Hand in Hand with UNICEF for Children and Peace
in Vienna
Vienna, July 17, 2025 – The World Peace Choral Festival (WPCF) returned to Vienna for another moving celebration of music, unity, and humanitarian action — reaffirming its motto: Coming together to sing – singing for a better future. This year, the Festival continued its collaboration with UNICEF Austria, turning songs of hope into tangible support for children in need across the globe.
A Global Chorus for UNICEF’s Mission
More than 40 choirs from 20 countries filled Vienna’s grand venues with voices of peace, empathy, and joy. Beyond the powerful performances, the Festival’s signature UNICEF Charity Bazaar once again became a heartbeat of compassion: young singers and volunteers created and sold handmade gifts, channeling every contribution to UNICEF’s projects that bring clean water, health, and education to children in Malawi.
“Music unites us, but action defines us,” said Prof.Dr. Jian Wang, founder and organizer of the World Peace Choral Festival and the World Orchestra Festival. “Our continued partnership with UNICEF Austria is about giving children more than hope — it’s about restoring their right to learn, to grow, and to dream.”
Harmony in Action: Supporting UNICEF and Children Worldwide
This year, the Festival continues its strong partnership with UNICEF, directing support to urgent humanitarian projects that bring clean water, health care, and educational opportunities to children around the world. By combining the power of music with global solidarity, young singers contribute to initiatives that save lives, foster well-being, and promote peace across communities.
“Every note we sing is a message of hope,” said 12-year-old chorister Mia from Singapore. “Through our music, we can help UNICEF reach children who need it most, bringing light, care, and opportunity to their lives.”
Looking Ahead: Building Peace, One Voice at a Time
As the Festival looks toward 2026, the WPCF team remains committed to strengthening its collaboration with UNICEF and to expanding its global reach. Future plans include new partnerships with youth orchestras and creative initiatives linking young artists with humanitarian causes — proving that music can be both art and action.
“Each child’s voice carries the promise of peace,” said Dr. Wang. “Through our work with UNICEF, we’re showing the world how those voices can change lives — one song, one project, one future at a time.”
